The Kitchen

Hello friends,
I think i'm all done with my kitchen. All the painting is done, and all the fluffing up is done! I think that's it.The color we painted the kitchen is courtyard tan by sherwin williams.I like to stick with the neutral colors.I painted my hallway this color, and liked it so much that i wanted the same color in the kitchen too!

I still love all my tureens.I washed them all,and they went right back up!

Since i'm never going to have a farmhouse sink i did a little experimenting with a curtain i made from burlap. If it doesn't get in my way i'll keep it there!I made two panels, and i used a tension rod. I bought the rug at wuslu.

I filled a glass jar with clay pots, and added some seed packets to give it a spring feeling.

I found this in a box at the antique shop. It was at one time attached to something, but i'm using to hold my flameless candle.A great place for a plant too!

Great basket to hold my twine.

I found this basket at the thrift shop for 25 cents.I keep my water in it.

I never realized when i made the wall hanging that it matched the drop cloth curtain that i made.It wasn't planned.

I found three more old breadboards at the first garage sale of the season. They were $2.00 each.

A vignette i put together for the counter.

I found these cute little planters at the christmas tree shop.I have three of them on my windowsill. You can't see them in the picture with all the sun coming in! They have little bees on them too!

This is the door going into my laundry room. That's a bunch of dried flowers tied with some ribbon.

Have a great day!!

Beautiful. I love the sunny, warm, creamy color. I've been dying to paint my cupboards off and on for 20 years now and still haven't had the guts to pull the trigger!

What a beautiful soft color on the walls. Looks wonderful in your kitchen. Your kitchen is really amazing, so open and light and pretty. Love the breadboards you found all grouped together like that. and i'm liking the idea with the little curtains under the sink, i'm thinking i might try that too... i'll be curious if you find it annoying or functional, because it sure is cute!

Your kitchen looks very pretty and bright. Did you know the at black iron holder by the window (with the candle on it) is an antique oil lamp stand? I have one complete with wall bracket. Maybe you can look for an oil lamp to sit in it. Beautifully done! Pamela

Beautiful, Kathy! It looks so nice with the sun streaming in, too! I got those little planters, too, and used them in my granddaughter's room. How funny that the piece you made matches your valance {which I just love, by the way}. It all looks great!

Your kitchen is just stunning, I am in love with it. It is just so airy and fresh- the bread boards might be my favorite part. Coming over from Simple Details- I had to see the rest of it!

Hi Kate, your kitchen is light and airy. I could sit and sip tea and chat all day there. I will be following you I love French inspired decor. Could you post here what color you walls and cabinets are? I'm wondering if they both are the same color? Thank you so MUCH! Happy Easter to you and your family.

Love the kitchen!!! Very pretty! Love the tureens too!! The black metal bracket probably held an oil lamp at one time. I inherited one from my grandmother. So you are on the right track with the candle. Might have do that with mine!

Thespoena McLaughlin said...

Actually you are not too far off on that candle holder. It is a piece of a lantern holder. It would have attached to an ornate piece that would have been affixed to the wall and you would have set your oil lantern on it (so basically a primitive light fixture). Very cute kitchen!
