The Tale Of The Old Side Panel

Hello friends,
Hope everyone had a good weekend! I'm just finishing up the tiny cottage bath. I think i'm done now!! I had a small old cabinet in the bathroom that has seen better days,so it was time to let it go.My hubby who loves his power tools decided he would use his big old saw on the cabinet. He had the little cabinet in a little pile, and off it went for the trash pick up.As i looked at the pile of wood in front of my house a light bulb went off!! I ran outside and grabbed the side panel, and it came right back in with it. I could not let all that sturdy wood go!! I knew i could do something with it.I had to hide it in the guest bathtub for awhile.I couldn't let the old guy see it!! Not yet, anyhow.I wanted to keep peace in the family!! The little side panel found a new home!!

Great place to hang a pretty little hand towel in the cottage bath!!

What was i thinking when i stenciled it!! At the time i thought it was cute:)

 Needs a good painting!!

I filled in the cracks with white wood filler, and painted it.

Behr cottage white paint. This is my favorite color!

I had this hook, and sprayed it silver. My faucet is chrome so this wouldn't work.

I taped where i wanted my stripes, and painted them toasted almond. I painted my laundry room, and had a lot of extra paint,so i used that. That's the tale of the old side panel.

Here's what we are working on now!! We had a leak in the roof, and part of the ceiling was coming down!! The paint brushes are out in force again!!

Have a great day!!

What a great rescue and a perfect new use for your little cabinet panel. I love the stripes! We use the Elmer's wood glue too and it works so well.
