Old Tin Ceiling Tiles

Hello friends,
I visited one of my favorite antique shops, and found four very old ceiling tiles! They measure "24x24". I Immediately fell In love with them. You know how It Is when you see something you just have to have, and I had to have these. They were $10.00 each. At the time I didn't know what I would do with them, but I knew I would find a place for them! I knew If I walked out of the store without them I would regret It. I found the perfect spot for them above my fireplace. Since I have high ceilings I thought these would look good above the fireplace. They fill up a lot of space, and that's what I wanted. I find that when I put one large picture up It still needs something more.

While I was standing on an 8 foot ladder I kept thinking of the commercial on tv. I've fallen, and I can't get up!! That's all I need. Well, thank goodness I didn't fall off the ladder trying to hang these things up!!
The one on the bottom right could have went over just a little more. It's going to stay that way for now.

I found the english spools at a garage sale, and I'm using them for candlesticks. I found five of them!! They were $1.00 each.

You can see how chippy the old tiles are. I using sugar bowls for my boxwood.

I filled my copper planter with small grapevine wreaths, and a faux plant. I found a bunch of small grapevine wreaths at the dollar store during the holidays.
Have a great day!!

new follower alert! I love old ceiling tiles. When we built our house I wanted them in my kitchen so bad but they were just too expensive. I did find some ceiling paper / like wall paper/ that looks pretty good. Hope you'll come visit me.

When I first read the part about ceiling tiles, dumb me thought, what could you do with ceiling tiles? You didn't say they were TIN ceiling tiles. I heart them! They even have pretty chippy paint. And the spools for 1.00 each. Wow! Your mantle looks wonderful.
