I found this $10.00 chair at a garage sale about a month ago. first thing I did was go to Joanns, and buy everything I needed to redo It. Fabric, trim, and batting. Then I worked on It when I had the time! First thing I did was get out all the nasty tacks. That was the hard part. I love chairs, and I love the challenge to take something junky, and make It look pretty again!! It does take some work, but I think It's worth It In the end!! This was a $50.00 project including the chair.
The chair had dark brown wood. I gave It the first coat of primer to see how It would look In white. Then the fun starts with removing the tacks.
It's a good sturdy chair. It just needed a little love:) You can see the color of the wood on the arms of the chair.
I put all new batting, cut my fabric, and stapled away!!
The trim I picked compliments the fabric. The fabric looks, and feels like linen, but It's not. I bought It on sale at Joanns for $7.99 a yard. It was 30% off.
I also made the pillow. I had some fabric left over from a linen tablecloth that I had, and I used that to make the pillow. Then I just added some extra fabric I had from the chair, and added a button.
This is the table you see. I also found It at a garage sale. It was a set of nesting tables. I'm just using one. I painted It cottage white.
Have a great day!
