Cows

Hello friends,
I love the Antique Farm House! They have such great stuff. When I came across this cow picture I thought It would fit In with the look I'm going for In my kitchen. I just love the cozy old fashioned farmhouse feeling. I still love all my whites, but the kitchen Is going In a different direction. It's all starting to come together. Years ago you would never think of buying anything that was all scratched up, and, the paint was peeling off, but It seems that's all I want now!! I know a lot of us feel that way.

When I was growing up I was lucky enough to live two doors down from my grandmother's house. I would spend all my summer days with my grandmother. Watching her cook for her big Italian family.Ten children! The old wood floor was worn in front of the old farmhouse stove from her standing there cooking, and cooking. She had a big old farmhouse sink too! They were the good old days! I remember going In her yard, and eating tomatoes off the vine. She had a big garden with everything you could think of growing. No chemicals, no spraying. Just pick what you want, and eat It. I guess that's why I love the old farmhouse feeling. It brings you back when times were hard, but the simple way of life was wonderful. Everything was chippy, worn, but beautiful In It's own way.

It's made really nice! I'm happy with the quality. I covered an old lampshade
I had with burlap, and I kept the vignette simple.

Chippy, and worn. It's made of wood.

Have a great day!!

This is a beautiful post. I enjoyed your reminiscing about your grandmother's farm kitchen. The new cow sign is wonderful and looks perfect in that vignette. Hugs, Pamela

Ah! Googled it and found it.
Has the rain stopped where you are? We seem to be DONE with it . . . for now. At least here in NJ we aren't lacking for green.

It's lovely, Kathy! What a great memory you have of your grandmother's house. How lucky to live so close. Antique Farmhouse is another one I check out. Between them and Decor Steals any budget is shot!

Love, love your story about your grandmother, and the farmhouse sink, the worn spot on the floor where she used to stand, and how you picked fat juicy warm tomatoes off the vine and ate them right there. Your Cow print is just fabulous too!
