Before And After Dollar Lamp

Hello Friends,
I know I just Painted my cabinet In the foyer, but the color was just a little to bright for me. So, I painted It White with a little of the turquoise coming through.I like It much better now. It's makes decorating easier with a neutral color. I want to be able to change the feel of the room, and I can with the white. So, I found this old lamp at the thrift store for one dollar. It was the size, and shape I needed for this small cabinet In my very small foyer, but It needed some work!!

The brass Is all worn off. I mixed some woodland brown, and metallic gold craft paint together. It came out a nice bronze color for the base.

I wanted a burlap lamp shade, but to spend around thirty or forty dollars on a lamp shade with defeat the purpose.

I had this old lamp shade, and covered It with burlap that I had. I clipped the trim on to see If I liked It before I glued It on. I liked It!!

Not bad for a dollar!

I found this small painting on canvas at a garage sale.

Have a great day!!

Covering the lampshade in burlap was genius! I hope you won't mind if I borrow this idea ... I have a couple of lamps that will benefit greatly from this treatment.

You blow me away with your cleverness and ability to change things into better ... I would love to make slip covers and I do have a sewing machine, but not the ability like you.. cant wait to see what you have done next!!
