Chair Slipcover

Hello friends,
I've been sewing away!! I made a cute slip for my tapestry chair In my bedroom. I found this old bedspread at a garage sale a few years ago. I thought It was time to put It to good use and make a monogrammed slipcover. It's been packed away for the last few years, and I wanted Sonni and Felici's name to live on!! I wanted to do something with It rather then have It packed away In a box. You can see the bedspread Here. I'm not a seamstress by any means so, It's just trial, and error for me. What's the worst that could happen If you make a mistake, and I make plenty of mistakes so, just keep plugging away!!

I put ties on each side with grosgrain ribbon, and ties around the arms. I finished It off with some piping around the seat.

I love all the detail!!

I just cut, and pinned away!!

Have a great day!!

Great job, Kathy! I love the way it looks and that flirty skirt. You sound like me ~ I just go at it and keep going until I like the way it looks.

I have a chair just like that. Many years ago,we saved it from going to the dump...our neighbors were leaving it for the trash truck. We did recover it, but I've been wanting to redo it so that it has a skirt.
Yours is just beautiful!!!

Kathy you did a beautiful job! I'm a self taught sewer and everything I do is trial and error too. Enjoy your weekend, Gail

I like the way your chair turned out. Your sewing looks fine to me. I have a similar chair that needs a cover but I don't think mine would look as great as yours. I might get brave enough to do it since you were reluctant and yours turned out looking so good.-------- Shannon

Very pretty Kathy. I really don't believe you when you say you can't sew. I saw that skirt you made under the kitchen sink so I made one too, but I didn't copy yours, but it was hard to do, so THAT"S not being able to sew..Happy Thursday..Judy
