The hot weather has kept me Indoors, and I'm catching up on some things that I wanted to get to for some time now! Like painting my triple dresser In my bedroom. It hasn't seen a paint brush In years!! Since I'm doing a little makeover in my bedroom I thought It was time to give this dresser some paint. It was an off white color, and now I painted It valspar antique white. The trim Is valspar allspice. I wanted to spice It up a little. I bought this dresser around twenty five years ago at the salvation army thrift shop. You can see how long I've been thrifting! I guess you can say I just love old stuff!
They are the original handles. I painted them white, and then went over them with metallic gold.
I did a little stenciling between the handles.
The top Is antique white. I glazed the dresser with valspar mocha glaze, and I gave It a good waxing with Johnson paste wax.
Here Is a little sneak peek at something new!! As I said I love old stuff, but sometimes you just have to bite the bullet, and buy something new!! I'll show you everything when It's all done.

Have a great day!

What a beautiful transformation Kathy! I love the stenciling between the handles...what a nice touch. Also, I LOVE your farmhouse sign! It's been extremely hot here too which is making it even harder to get motivated to do anything since returning home from vacation.
Love your dresser, Kathy! You've had one of the hottest dressers in recent years all along. Your new headboard looks intriguing. I'm looking forward to seeing a full picture of it.
The stenciling is the magic touch to that one! Gorgeous!

Your dresser is stunning! It has beautiful lines, and i love it's little legs. What a great thrift store find... and you really did a great job showing off the beautiful curves and handles with your paint job... I see what looks like an upholstered headboard!!?? Oh my goodness, what do you have up your sleeve to show us?

Hi Kathy: I really love how you did the dresser. Is it by Bassett? I have one almost like it, if not the same that I painted a little differently from yours. I love the style of it.. I'll share it someday..Happy Tuesday..Judy

Love this dresser! I am going to be painting my bedroom furniture soon. It belonged to my grandmother and is very similar to this one! I love the two tone look! I am just trying to decide what 2 colors to use! This is beautiful!
just beautiful!! Did you originally paint the piece? Just curious of how you painted over a stained piece of furniture.... I have an Ethan Allen dresser I would love to paint but don't know if I need to sand and remove the stain... Thank you for your lovely blog! So many great ideas!
What a gorgeous piece!!
