Bedroom

Hello friends,
I wanted to hang a chandelier In my bedroom for the longest time! The only problem is my hubby has to go up In the attic, and do the electrical work. It's just so hot up there right now that we have to wait until It gets cooler out. My chandelier Is just waiting to go up!! I found an old chandelier at the thrift shop that I'm using for now. I took It apart, and spray painted It. I added some flameless candles with timers to give It a pretty glow at night. For now It's not so bad.

Right now It's just hanging on a chain!! I sprayed It rust-oleum antique brass.

My comforter Is reversible. Right now I wanted a more serene look. So with a little flip you get a whole new look. I love the checks with the stripes. I had the pillow shams. So, It didn't cost me anything to change the look.

I found this old trunk at a garage sale for $10.00. I added some of my quilts on top.

I had to get rid shiny brass!!

Have a great day!!

Your bedroom is so lovely, Kathy! I'm sure the new chandy will just enhance this space beautifully. I have a reversible quilt on our bed as well. I flip it to a striped look for Summer and then an allover floral for Winter on the reverse.

Your bedroom is so so pretty. It could totally be in a magazine! I really like your temporary chandy with the flameless candles, what a great idea! I think it could be a permanent fixture it is so charming. Like your two tone dresser too, and the sweet checks on the comforter...

Your room is so pretty and definitely serene. Love the chandy and I am supposed to get one sometime soon if I decide to lose the fan. Not sure yet. It does get hot here. What I really love here is that trunk. How cool is that color and only $10!

What a fabulous idea for the chandy you have right now. Quit creative to have the candles on a timer. Love the old quilts and your bedding is lovely. Have been meaning to ask you what setting do you have your camera on to get the warm peachy, sunny glow? I notice all your pics have it and it is so pretty:)

Oh my gosh....I wouldn't want to get out of that bed in the morning, Kathy! It's so comfy looking!! Great idea for a temporary fix to your chandy! :) Now....don't let one of those candles fall off and clunk you in the head during the night. lol!

Love the colors! Where did the spread that's under the check comforter come from?

Your bedroom is beautiful!! I love the bedding and trunk with quilts. This is the first time I have ever seen a light fixture similiar to the one in my dining room. I still love the white porcelain look but not the shiny brass like you. I have wanted to spray paint mine too but don't know what to do about the decorative strips of gold around it. Did you paint those or just leave them? I hope you can understand what I am asking. =/ By the way, I love your blog...this was the first time I have run across it. :)
