Kitchen Shelf

Hello friends,
I added a shelf above my kitchen window. I always wanted to put a shelf up, but i never got around to it. Well, i finally did. Now the problem is what do i put on it ?? That's the hardest part for me. I tweaked it as i went along. The problem is i have to get up there on a ladder, and that's the scary part. I must have climbed that ladder a hundred times! That's it i'm tired now!!

I found the very old scale at the consignment shop.

I made some new panels. I love the brown and cream check. I bought
    the fabric at Joanns.

I kept things simple with my big wooden bowl, and some rolling pins.

                                            Thanks for stopping by!!

Kathy that shelf looks perfect above your sink! You are lucky to have a window above your sink something I have only had once in our homes!Your vignette looks so pretty! LOVE all your vintage finds! Great checked sink skirt too!

Very pretty, Kathy! I love how you accessorized it, too. I am going to ask my husband to put some wood on top of my cabinets so things sit up there better. The tops are recessed so I have to use books to raise things up. So annoying trying to find book sizes to fit. Love your sink base curtains, too. I love a check pattern!

I love your new shelf and how you decorated it! It's just sweet. When we had our new kitchen reno I had them build in a shelf over the window which I load up with vintage stuff. Just another fun place to decorate. ;)

I think your shelf looks great. You have just the right objects at just the right heights and even some negative space. Perfecto. Now how can I get to that ladder to eat those bread sticks?

Very sweet, Kathy, you can display your favorites and they aren't in the way. I LOVE your scales, I have been looking for one for a long time. The curtain is really cute, too!

Love the shelf and the vignette you came up with! I can't imagine climbing up so high and so many times to put things up there - but when us women are determined to do something, we simply do it, right?
