Hello friends,
I love grain sack table runners! I was searching ebay, and came across a few that I really would have loved to buy, but they were a little too expensive for my budget. I always have a drop cloth on hand for different projects, and I had more then enough to make a table runner. It's not the real deal, but I think It turned out ok!!
I used barn red acrylic paint for the stripes.
It looks great with a bowl of red apples!!
I just used my painters tape to measure how wide i wanted my stripes.
The runner is 20 inches wide. I made mine 65 inches long.
Have a great night!!!

Your runner turned out beautiful!
This is great! Better than, "The real deal." So clever and I love the idea of using painter's tape. So many possibilities!

It's gorgeous Kathy, I have to try this for the winter months ahead. Right now I have an ironstone bowl with with green apples in it!
Fantastic idea. I love it!
Very pretty! Your kitchen always looks so warm and inviting. Love the soft red of the apples on the table, cozy and sweet.

You have worked your magic again, Kathy! I did something similar a few years ago but it didn't come out as nice. Yay for you...it looks great!

That looks really good.
Very pretty! I love when people make their own decorations.
I think your table runner turned out just perfect. I think I would love to make one too, and the great thing is you can make the stripes any color you want.
Fabulous fake, I just love it:) It looks beautiful on your table with all the white ironstone containers.
I love the grain sack look, too. Yours looks perfect! This may be my next project.
