I've been wanted to faux paint the fireplace In the living room for the longest time and I finally finished It. The fireplace always bothered me with the black slate. It just never looked right to me. A few years ago I painted It a goldish color. That wasn't right either! I painted It black again and kept It that way until now. I wanted It to look sort of like marble. I would have loved to have the real thing but that was not In the budget at this time. I figured If I didn't like It I could always paint It black again.
painting at a moving sale. It's a Liz Jardine painting on canvas. I
love all the colors. After I hung the painting that's when I decided to
faux paint the fireplace.
with glaze I tried to give It a marble look. I used a piece of saran wrap
all crunched up and just blotted away. Some lighter spots... some
darker spots. I'm sure not a painter so I just did the best I could.
Have a great day!!
